Environment look development in UE4
The hardest thing about doing an animated cartoon series in a game engine is understanding what it takes to make the visuals performant in the viewport. But it's worth the challenge because, in the end, you don't have to render. This image has animated grass and tree leaves and it's all real-time. Every change I make happens in real-time. If I was going to do this in the traditional sense, a digital content creation tool, It would take me a long time to make this image as nice as it is. I would constantly have to render a frame to see every change I make with materials, textures, Layout, or anything else.
